Mike, a tiger in a cap and headphones

Get your own Mike

A personal AI assistant that lives on your Mac. You talk to it in Slack, from your phone or any computer.

Private to you. Mike runs on your own Mac, with your own Claude account and your own Slack. It starts with an empty memory and has no link to anyone else's computer, files or chats, including the person who sent you this page. Only you can talk to it.

What you need

The install takes 20 to 60 minutes. Keep the Mac plugged in and awake.

Set it up

  1. Get Claude and Slack ready

Sign up for Claude Pro at claude.ai and make your Slack workspace. Put the Slack app on your phone too, so you can talk to Mike from anywhere.

  2. Open Terminal

Press ⌘ + Space, type Terminal, press Return.

  3. Paste this line and press Return

    bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://agent.weboostleads.com/install.sh)"

Paste with ⌘ + V. The installer explains each step as it goes.

  4. Answer 3 questions

Your first name, your time zone (press Return to keep the one it suggests), then press Return to say OK.

  5. Type your Mac password

Nothing shows on screen while you type. That's normal. Press Return.

  6. Sign in to Claude

A browser window opens. Sign in to your Claude account, then come back to Terminal.

  7. Make Mike's Slack app (about 3 minutes)

Press Return when it asks "Set up Slack now?". A Slack page opens with Mike's app already filled in.

    1. If Slack asks how to start, pick From a manifest. Pick your workspace, then Next, then Create.
    2. In the left menu, click Install App, then Install to your workspace, then Allow. Copy the Bot User OAuth Token (it starts with xoxb-) and paste it into Terminal.
    3. In the left menu, click Basic Information. Scroll to App-Level Tokens, click Generate Token and Scopes. Name it socket, click Add Scope, pick connections:write, click Generate. Copy the token (it starts with xapp-) and paste it into Terminal.
    4. When it asks "Is that you?" with your Slack name, press Return.
  8. Helper agents (optional)

Have ChatGPT Plus? Say yes and sign in to ChatGPT in the browser. You get Builder, Writer and Research helpers, each with its own Slack channel. They use your ChatGPT plan, not Claude. No ChatGPT? Type n and press Return.

  9. Flip 2 switches

Two System Settings pages open, one after the other (Accessibility, then Screen Recording). On each one:

    • If tmux is in the list, switch it on.
    • If not, click +, press ⌘ + Shift + G, paste the path Terminal shows you, press Return, click Open, then switch it on.

Go back to Terminal and press Return after each one. These let Mike use the mouse and see the screen, only when you ask it to.

  10. Done

When Terminal says Mike is running, open Slack. Mike says hello in the #mike channel. Talk to it there, or send a direct message to the Mike app.

If something goes wrong

"internet connection problem"
Your Wi-Fi router is blocking a download. Connect the Mac to your phone's hotspot and paste the same line again.
"Claude Code needs macOS 13"
This Mac is too old for Mike. Update macOS in System Settings > General > Software Update, if it offers one.
"only N GB free"
Free up space until about 15 GB is free, then paste the same line again.
"Slack did not accept those"
One token was copied wrong. The first starts with xoxb-, the second with xapp-. Copy each again and paste.
It stopped with a red STOP message
Do what the message says, then paste the same line again. A full log is saved at ~/Mike/install.log.
"Mike is already installed"
It's set up. Mike is in Slack in #mike.
